who we are

The Summit - Senior High Ministry - exists to provide a safe place for students to explore their faith and radical opportunities to live out their faith in the world. We want to connect adult mentors and teens to encourage each other to experience and follow Jesus together.

The Summit is for students in grades 10-12 (grades 9-12 after spring break). For special events, see the "events" page; for ongoing opportunities, see below.

sunday mornings

There is no traditional weekly Senior High "Sunday School" on Sunday mornings.  Rather, we do a series of short-term opportunities throughout the year.  In 2010-2011, we plan on the following three Sunday morning programs:

September 12 - October 10 -- Sundays 9:30-10:30 am
"Making God Part of the Equation"
A five-week series on thinking through life after high school.  Open to all students in 10th-12th grade.  Please register by

October 17 - November 14 -- Sundays 9:30-10:30 am
Baptism & Confirmation Class
A four-week baptism preparation class for those who have never been baptized and confirmation class for those who have.  This series will culminate with actual baptisms and confirmations of the students in the class on Sunday, November 14.  Please register by

January 30 - March 27 -- Sundays 9:30-10:30 am (excluding holiday weekends)
Spring Break Missions Trip Preparation
Weekly training and preparation for our spring break missions trip (which is April 2-9, 2011)

We also encourage all high school students to participate in the main worship service at UCC (8:00, 9:30 or 11:00 am). If you choose to go at 11:00 am, many of us sit together near the front right side of the sanctuary and sometimes go out to lunch together afterwards. For more details, contact us!
